Academy Of Champion player Jason Devaney from Crosmolina Snooker Club in County Mayo warmed up for the IBSF World Under 21's later on this month winning the WSA World Open Irish Qualifying event in the Ivy Rooms Snooker Club In Carlow.
In the final Jason played another Academy member Josh Boileau from Newbridge CYMS
This Final featured two of the best Junior players in the Country and it was one of the best finals ever played in Carlow.
This a great success story for Junior Snooker In Ireland.
Jason had superb wins en route to the final with victory over Terry Parker 3 -1, George Tierney 3-2, Mario Fernandez 3 - 2 and Johnny Williams 3 -2.
Josh had great wins over Cathal Gordon 3 -1, Philip Browne 3 - 2, Clinton Franey 3 -1 and Robert Redmond 3 -2.
Jason will now travel to Sheffield to play in stage two of the World Open and play against players from all around the world.
Robert Redmond had the highest Break in the event with a 122 Break, Mario Fernandez had a 120 Break.
